The Mid-Carolina Boys Soccer season came to an end Thursday with a 3-0 loss to Indian Land in the second round of the AAA State Playoffs. The Rebels spotted the Warriors an early 1-0 lead just a minute into the match when a free kick from distance was knocked in for a goal. The Rebels had trouble matching the energy of Indian Land all night as it seemed the Warriors had a numbers advantage on both ends of the field. Down 2-0 at the half, Mid-Carolina played better defense in the second half but could not consistently build any offensive attack. They had a handful of chances but none that produced a goal. The loss ends the Rebels season with a record of 11-6 overall. One of the larger groups of seniors in recent memory for Rebel Soccer – Kaleb Boland, Ty’Je Dandy, Chandler Dickert, Chase Dickert, Adrian Lopez, and Calen McManus – played their final match. Their hard work and leadership will be missed.
Mid-Carolina would also like to thank Barry McManus for providing the game recaps all season. It was greatly appreciated.
