The Mid-Carolina and Westwood boys’ soccer teams are getting quite familiar with each other. Westwood avenged last weeks shootout loss in Prosperity by beating Mid-Carolina 1-1 (3-2) in Blythewood Tuesday night. The match was eerily similar to the first. Brandon Noriega scored with nine minutes left in the match to tie the score at one. The match again went through the 10 minutes of extra time and into a penalty kick shootout. Unlike the first match, the goalkeepers had the upper hand this time and Westwood won the shootout 3-2 after nine rounds penalty kicks. Eduardo Lopez saved four of the nine attempts against him but the Westwood keeper was brilliant saving six of nine.
