The Mid-Carolina Varsity Boys Soccer stepped outside of region play as Columbia High School came to Lon Armstrong Stadium Wednesday night. The two teams opened the regular season on February 27 in Columbia; the Captials won that first meeting 1-0. The second meeting of the teams was much like the first as the Rebels had plenty of chances but could not beat the Columbia keeper. Still scoreless deep into the second half the Rebels were able to final break through when Maurice Herrgott capitalized on a goalkeeper error and scored. The Rebels were able to ride out the rest of the time for the 1-0 victory. Mid-Carolina has won four in row and is 8-4 on the season. They will face Clinton Friday night at home.
