It came down to the wire on Tuesday, with Mid-Carolina Rebels Varsity taking victory on a dramatic walk-off single in the late innings that sealed their victory over Broome. The game was tied at three with the Rebels batting in the bottom of the seventh when Bryce Medlock singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Mid-Carolina took an early lead in the first inning. The Rebels scored two runs when Jeb Fulmer homered.
Broome knotted the game up at three in the top of the fifth inning, when Crump singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Fulmer was credited with the victory for Mid-Carolina Rebels Varsity. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over two innings, striking out one and walking one.
McKinney took the loss for Broome. He lasted one inning, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out two and walking zero.
Cade Ruff started the game for Mid-Carolina. He surrendered three runs on six hits over five innings, striking out seven.
Mid-Carolina smacked two home runs on the day. Ruff went for the long ball in the first inning. Fulmer had a dinger in the first inning.
