Even though Mid-Carolina Rebels JV gave up five runs in the third inning, they still defeated Saluda 14-9 on Wednesday.
There was plenty of action on the basepaths as the Rebels JV collected nine hits and Saluda had four.
Mid-Carolina tallied seven runs in the third inning. The rally was led by singles by Stanton Hester, Darian Bookman, Colby Doolittle, Colby Haralson, and Will Murray and a walk by Preston Bookman.
Al Farmer earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Mid-Carolina. He lasted one and one-third innings, allowing two hits and four runs while striking out two. Bookman threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
#19 took the loss for Saluda. He lasted one inning, allowing three hits and seven runs.
Mid-Carolina Rebels JV collected nine hits. Murray and Hayes Waites all managed multiple hits for the Rebels JV. Waites and Murray each collected two hits to lead the team. Mid-Carolina was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Waites made the most plays with four.
