Mid-Carolina Rebels JV got out to a seven-run lead in the fourth inning and held on for a 7-5 victory over Broome on Tuesday. Broome put up five runs in the failed comeback. #11, #3, and #2 powered the rally with RBIs.
Broome scored three runs in the seventh inning, but the Rebels JV still managed to pull out the victory. #3 and #2 each had RBIs in the big inning.
Mid-Carolina got things started in the first inning when Connor Gray doubled and later scored on a passed ball.
The Rebels JV scored four runs in the fourth inning. Mid-Carolina’s big bats in the inning were led by singles by Hayes Waites and Bryson Holland and a double by Stanton Hester.
Waites was credited with the victory for Mid-Carolina Rebels JV. He went five innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out three and walking one. Preston Bookman threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Bookman recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Mid-Carolina.
#7 took the loss for Broome. He went one and one-third innings, allowing six runs on seven hits and walking one.
#10 started the game for Broome. He lasted two innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out three and walking zero.
Mid-Carolina Rebels JV racked up 13 hits. Hester, Bookman, Al Farmer, Jacob Sease, and Holland all managed multiple hits for Mid-Carolina Rebels JV. Holland, Sease, Farmer, Bookman, and Hester each collected two hits to lead the team.
